🇦🇹 AUSTRIA – ANNUAL REPORT 2025
Theodora von Auersperg (TvA) International Association
1. FOREWORD – FOUNDER & CHAIR

2025 represented a year of consolidation, preparation, and strategic investment for the Theodora von Auersperg International Foundation. Following the Foundation’s establishment phase in 2024, the focus in 2025 shifted toward expanding relationships, strengthening international visibility, and preparing the organizational, artistic, and strategic groundwork for the Foundation’s first major flagship event.

Rather than prioritizing short-term fundraising outcomes, the Foundation deliberately invested in credibility, partnerships, and program development aligned with its long-term mission: to unite philanthropy and the arts as a force for meaningful social impact.

All activities during the year were financed through personal contributions by the Founder. While the Austrian entity closed the year with a financial deficit, this reflects a conscious early-stage investment phase aimed at building sustainable structures and scalable formats for future growth.

2. MISSION & STRATEGIC ROLE

The Austrian entity of the Foundation serves as its strategic and conceptual anchor, responsible for:

  • Stewardship of vision, values, and governance

  • International positioning and credibility building

  • Conceptual development of flagship formats

  • Strategic relationship building across borders

  • Preparation for future international philanthropy and arts initiatives

In 2025, Austria continued to function as the Foundation’s intellectual and strategic center, ensuring coherence between mission, artistic expression, and long-term impact objectives.

3. STRATEGIC PRIORITIES 2025

During the reporting period, the Foundation focused on:

  • Expanding high-level relationships in arts, culture, philanthropy, and civic spheres

  • Increasing international visibility of the TvA Foundation and its core initiatives

  • Developing the Esperanza for Life concept as a scalable, repeatable platform

  • Providing strategic oversight and preparation for the Foundation’s first flagship event

These priorities were pursued with a long-term horizon, emphasizing quality, alignment, and sustainability over immediate financial returns.

4. KEY PROGRAMMATIC DEVELOPMENT
Esperanza for Life – A Celebration of Life

A central milestone in 2025 was the strategic preparation of the Foundation’s first major public event:

Esperanza for Life – A Celebration of Life
October 3, 2025 | Bulgaria Hall, Sofia

The Austrian entity played a leading role in:

  • Conceptual framing of the event

  • Artistic and narrative positioning

  • Strategic alignment with the Foundation’s mission

  • International communication and relationship support

The event was conceived not only as a concert, but as a proof of concept for a broader artistic-philanthropic platform to be expanded internationally in future years.

5. FINANCIAL OVERVIEW – AUSTRIA

In 2025, the Austrian entity did not receive major external donations or sponsorship income. All operational, strategic, and preparatory expenses were financed through personal contributions by the Founder.

As a result, the entity closed the year with a negative financial balance. This outcome reflects a planned investment phase consistent with the early development of an international foundation focused on long-term impact rather than short-term fundraising metrics.

6. OUTLOOK 2026

Entering 2026, the Austrian entity is positioned to:

  • Convert increased visibility into structured partnerships

  • Support sponsorship development and donor engagement

  • Anchor future international philanthropy and arts initiatives

  • Provide strategic continuity as the Foundation scales its activities

The Foundation anticipates a gradual financial turnaround supported by diversified funding sources, sponsorships, and repeatable flagship formats

FINANCIAL CONTEXT & STRATEGY NOTE
Financial Context

The 2025 financial results of both the Austrian and Bulgarian entities reflect the Foundation’s position as an early-stage international organization in a structured investment phase.

Key characteristics of the 2025 financial context include:

  • Absence of major external donations or sponsorships

  • Full financing of activities through personal founder contributions

  • Planned deficits linked to visibility building, program development, and flagship event realization

These results do not indicate operational instability, but rather a deliberate strategy focused on long-term value creation.

Financial Strategy Going Forward

The Foundation’s financial strategy for the coming periods is based on:

  1. Conversion of Visibility into Funding
Leveraging increased public presence and credibility to attract sponsors, partners, and donors.

  2. Diversification of Income Streams

    • Sponsorships

    • Strategic partnerships

    • Philanthropic contributions

    • Repeatable flagship formats

  3. Disciplined Cost Management
Maintaining lean operations while scaling selectively and sustainably.

  4. Gradual Reduction of Founder Dependency
Transitioning from founder-financed operations to a balanced funding structure over time.

Strategic Conclusion

2025 should be understood as a foundational investment year. The financial deficits recorded by both entities represent intentional early-stage commitments made to establish credibility, execute a first flagship event, and position the Foundation for sustainable growth.

The Board and management view the Foundation as well positioned for a financial and operational turnaround as strategic partnerships and funding mechanisms mature.
