From Vision to Action: Developing the Pilot Model for Esperanza for Life™

In order to achieve the large-scale vision of the Esperanza for Life™ Center – powered by the TvA International Foundation — as outlined below— we are currently focusing on developing a more practical and implementable pilot model.

This first step will serve as the foundation for realizing the broader concept in full scale. As already discussed, our initial focus will be in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where we are working closely with our veterinary partner to bring the first Esperanza for Life™ Center to life.

The Greater Vision Behind A Sanctuary for Healing

The Theodora von Auersperg (TvA) Foundation is embarking on a groundbreaking initiative to create a state-of-the-art Veterinary Clinic, Animal Shelter and Therapy Center—a holistic sanctuary where compassion for animals meets healing for children. This flagship project will serve as a model of humane care, rehabilitation, and education, while promoting social inclusion and public awareness around animal welfare and child development.

Under the guiding vision of the Theodora von Auersperg (TvA) International Foundation, Esperanza for Life™ is an ambitious and heart-driven initiative. This landmark project will be a model of humane care, healing, and hope—where rescued animals and vulnerable children come together in an environment of dignity, love, and transformation.

🩺 The Esperanza for Life™ Veterinary Clinic

A fully equipped, accessible clinic offering high-quality medical care and preventive services for animals, including:

• Emergency and surgical services
• Vaccinations and wellness programs
• Spay and neuter campaigns
• 🚐 Mobile Clinic – “Healing on Wheels” – Mobile outreach for underserved rural and urban areas

  

  A custom-fitted vehicle extending the Center’s reach to underserved areas, offering:

  • Spay/neuter and vaccination campaigns
  • Emergency rescue and outreach care
  • Mobile therapy visits and educational programs

🐾 The Esperanza for Life™ Animal Shelter

A beacon of compassion, this next-generation shelter will provide safe haven, recovery, and rehoming for stray, abandoned, and mistreated animals. It will feature:

• Spacious and enriched living environments
• Outdoor exercise and socialization zones
• On-site adoption, training, and volunteer programs
• Educational areas for school visits and community learning

🤝 The Esperanza for Life™ Therapy Center

A deeply nurturing space where rescued animals help heal children facing emotional, psychological, or developmental challenges. The center will host:

• Animal-assisted therapy programs with dogs, horses, and small animals
• Sensory and therapeutic gardens
• Nature-based activities and mindfulness workshops
• Specialized sessions for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, including orphans, children with disabilities, and trauma survivors

Social Impact & Objectives

• Establish Esperanza for Life™ as the flagship center of excellence in Southeast Europe for animal welfare and animal-assisted therapy.
